INFORMATION ON THE HANDLING OF PERSONAL DATA FROM PUBLICLY AVAILABLE SOURCES
The Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic recommends that anyone who downloads publicly available documents containing personal data handle them with due care. Further processing of personal data may be subject to the GDPR or personality rights protection, and the mere fact that a document containing personal data was available for download does not in itself constitute a legal basis for further retention, provision or publication of such data. The Office recommends obtaining documents containing personal data only to the extent necessary for the purpose of their legitimate use, including the protection of one's rights, and refraining from further dissemination of such data without a legal basis. This follows from the applicable legislation, regardless of the publicly available source or register from which the personal data originate.
